The Outstanding Team Member of the Year Award recognizes a person who is not the direct manager/director of a mail center, but has gone beyond their normal work duties and has been an example for others to follow. This person made a major impact in their mail center that is significant and noteworthy of recognition.
Nominees of this award do not have to be listed as members of ARMCUMS, but the manager/director of the person must be an active member.
The Alan Burke Mail Manager of the Year Award is for outstanding leadership and management of the Mail Services organization at the nominee’s institution of higher education. In recognition of the progressive and efficient mailing practices, which benefit their institution, and the College and University mailing industry. The scope and control may include mail involved operations or combination with print and/or copy services. The person submitting the nomination should be able to explain why this candidate’s operation meets this high standard. The candidate should have experience in management or supervision and be a current member of ARMCUMS in good standing.
The Steve Burn Distinguished Service Award recognizes an individual’s significant, unselfish and untiring service in the local, regional and /or national mailing industry. Their example to peers and coworkers alike demonstrates leadership, dedication, and professionalism, which inspires peers and coworkers to do likewise. Recognizing long standing dedication and commitment to the goals and ideals of ARMCUMS.
Presidential Award for Excellence (Discretionary)
This award is in recognition of long standing dedication and commitment to the goals and ideals of ARMCUMS. The President recognizes and appreciates the outstanding leadership and many contributions to the college and university mailing industry made by this individual. This award is selected and presented at the discretion of the current President of ARMCUMS. This award was inspired by the former Excellence in Leadership award which was given by Richard Boudrero between 2005 and 2015.
Lifetime Service and Excellence Award (Discretionary)
This special recognition signifies lifetime achievements in the college and university mailing industry, and those achievements were integral to ARMCUMS success. This person’s long term leadership, dedication, and selfless service to ARMCUMS and the college and university mailing industry is exemplary, and their contributions are an inspiration to the entire mailing industry. Nominations for this award come from the Executive Board and Awards Committee. The general association body may also suggest award recipients to the Executive Board and Awards Committee for consideration. This is not a yearly ARMCUMS award and is only given out occasionally, under specific guidelines, as deemed appropriate by the executive board.
